I have the following professional skills to offer.
-Proficient point of sale computer systems knowledge, as well as, adequate money management skills.
-I have the ability to motivate and stimulate peak performance in others.
-An attribute I obtained solely from my degree was the ability to be persuasive, both in words and on paper.
The following are the personal skills I have to offer.
-The ability to adapt, or to initiate change. I am the first person that will speak up when I know something is not working
the way it is.
-With the previous attribute, I also feel I have the ability to generate new ideas to substitute old, or out dated, ideas.
-Again to go along with the previous two, I have the ability to synthesize and/or integrate new ideas together, as an
attribute of my interdisciplinary studies.
I have a personal experience to share to help illuminate your perspective employee:
In one of my first classes I took at ASU I was required to participate in a community service activity as part of my grade.
I chose to serve thanksgiving dinner with some of my fellow classmates at the neighborhood Boys and Girls club. This experience
was shockingly illuminating in discovering the kind of person I was. This was not the first time I had volunteered for less
fortunate people, but it was defiantly the most personal experience I had gone through up to that point in my life. I was
also working with some of these kids at an internship I was participating in, but when I showed up to the center and saw some
of the kids I worked with, and the happiness that spread across their face, I knew this time was different. As I was there
decorating, and working with the kids, I was having a blast, these kids were having such a good time setting up the tables
for their families and friends that I got into it too, I wanted to make this thanksgiving the best ever for a bunch of people
I did not even know. Slowly people started showing up for the feast, so I made my way into the kitchen and started getting
all the plates ready to serve. As we were carting all the trays of food out to the waiting people the admiration and respect
I saw in these peoples faces, who had no idea who I was, and who I thought were disadvantaged. I came upon the realization
that all people are the same. No matter where you came from or where anyone is at in their life, everyone deserves respect.
Due to this experience, I will strive, for the rest of my life, to promote this type of ideology among everyone I come in
contact with. I feel that through this we can make this world a better place.
